Texts by Andreas Spiegl, Jan Verwoert, and an interview with Silke Otto-Knapp by Anette Freudenberger.
The watercolors of London-based artist Silke Otto-Knapp (born 1970 in Osnabrück) look like landscapes at first glance, but they often show city views or tropical plants in palm houses. In the two series presented in the exhibition, the artist deals with the cities of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, glamorous, almost mythically charged places, whereby the individual motifs are always based on photographic templates - own recordings or found material from magazines etc.
