This exhibition of drawings provides a unique view of how a broad range of artists employ the medium of drawing in their work. Often drawings are the site of exploration and experimentation for artists. Embodying the essence of the idea, drawings can be a more pure physical manifestation of thought. For some artists, the drawings are studies mapping the structure of larger works such as paintings, sculptures, or films. For others, the drawing is an end in itself. In all cases, the degree of immediacy revealed and the presence of the hand bring the viewer closer to the artist's process, both formally and conceptually.
For further information please contact Shaun Caley Regen or Lisa Overduin at the gallery at 310-276-5424.
